MSc Course Industrial Pharmacy

The master course of Industrial Pharmacy is a world-leading study programme in English language covering all aspects of pharmaceutical sciences in an industrial setting. Undertaking a trans-disciplinary approach, the course utilizes a range of perspectives from diverse fields and integrates them with industry experiences, case studies, real-world projects and self-directed studies, equipping graduates with an understanding of the state-of-the-art concepts, basic and advanced scientific technologies to transform scientific research into industrial practice. Hands-on working experience is an important component of the course.

The master program prepares students to participate in a variety of emerging careers in pharmaceutical industry and related areas. Graduates may be employed for drug discovery, development, production, quality control, quality assurance and management, regulatory affairs, and equipment managers in both pharmaceutical industry and its suppliers.

Course Duration and Attendance

This course is offered on a two-year, full-time basis. Part-time work or telework enrolment is not possible. Recommended study tracks adapted to the varying basic education are available in the Handbook of Modules.

Master thesis

The practical work on the master thesis may be performed at an academic institution or an industrial organisation in any part of the world. The thesis will be solely submitted to and defended at the Heinrich Heine University.

Application procedure

Application period for every years fall semester begins at May and lasts until July. After the 15th of July an application is not possible!

Applications must be submitted via our web-based application platform: https://digstu.hhu.de. The applicant must first register on the platform and can then submit the application. Language settings can be changed on the platform at the bottom right.

Please be aware all applicants who do not have an EU bachelor degree or EU school education will need a preliminary review document (VPD) from uni assist. The VPD is mandatory and needs to be uploaded before the application deadline! (no exceptions are possible!)
Please choose Heinrich Heine University "master all subjects". 
We do not accept VPDs from other universities!

Please note that the documents in languages other than English or German have to be certified by a sworn translator. We ask you to create one PDF file with the original and translated document before uploading it to the portal.

In order to apply the following documents must be provided:

  • Bachelor’s degree certificate (a final overall grade of 2.5 or better based on the German system; 1 is the highest grade, 4 is the lowest grade to pass)
  • Bachelor’s transcript of records
  • Bachelor’s module handbook (incl. grading system, working hours, and if possible ECTS)
  • VPD certificate from uni-assist.de (not the evaluation report!)
  • APS certificate (only if you come from China, Vietnam or India)
  • Proof of English language skill level:
    Medium of Instruction letters to proof your English skill level are not sufficient. Do not include those letters in your application! We accept only valid certificates of TOEFL (score of at least IBT 80, CBT 200, PBT 500), IELTS Academic (score of at least 6.5), Cambridge Certificate (score of at least180) or PTE Academic (score of at least 65).
     

There will be no benefit in providing a motivation letter, CV or letters of recommendation. Please do not upload those documents!

If you already have a Master’s degree from a german university, please upload the relevant documents in the respective part of the application.

International students
